How edit account usernames work
Most editor usernames follow a simple formula: subject plus editing word. The subject can be a fandom (anime, K-pop, a sport), a style (soft, dark, cinematic) or your name. The editing word tells people what you post: edits, fx, cuts, clips, motion or a technique like velocity, slowmo or keyframe.
Naming by fandom or by style
A fandom name like anime.cuts or kpop.fx attracts fans quickly but locks you into one topic. A style name like cinematic.vibes or soft.edits.x lets you edit anything. If you edit many fandoms, choose a style name or your own name plus edits.
Keep it readable
Edit usernames get long quickly, so use periods to separate words and keep it under 20 characters if you can. Instagram allows up to 30 characters, and TikTok up to 24. Using the same handle on both helps people find your edits on either app.
Generate more editor names
Write your fandom or style, then add one editing word from this page. For more combinations, the free Instagram username generator below creates names that already fit Instagram's rules.
