Roblox username rules
Roblox usernames must be 3 to 20 characters long and can only use letters A to Z, numbers 0 to 9 and a single underscore. The underscore cannot be the first or last character. Names that include personal information, swear words or inappropriate content are removed. Your display name is separate and more flexible, so you can keep the username simple and put extra jokes in the display name.
Joke styles Roblox players love
Noob jokes are classics: NoobInDisguise and DefaultDanny poke fun at new players. Game references work well because everyone gets them: BrookhavenBob, AdoptMeAdopter, ToiletTowerTom. Food names are silly and safe: BlockyBurrito, ChickenNugget, WaffleWizard. Opposites are funny too, like SpeedyTurtle or NotAHacker.
Keep it safe and allowed
Roblox has a young audience and strict filters. Avoid names that mention real names, ages, schools or locations, and skip anything that could be read as rude. If Roblox rejects a name you think is fine, a filter word may be hidden inside it; try a different spelling or word order.
Changing your Roblox username
You can change your username in Account Settings for 1,000 Robux. Because it costs Robux, test the name first by checking how it looks as a display name. When you are ready, the free Roblox username generator below suggests more names that already pass the length and underscore rules.
