What is a spam account?
A spam account is a second Instagram or TikTok profile, usually private, where people post freely for close friends: blurry photos, rants, memes and daily updates. It is also called a finsta (fake Instagram) or a private account. Instagram lets you add up to five accounts and switch between them without logging out.
Spam account username styles
Funny names make the account feel casual: dumpsterdiaries, braindumpz, unhingedhours. Aesthetic names keep it soft: blurry.memories, messy.archive. Mystery names hide who you are: not.for.u, secret.stash. Self-aware names joke about the account itself: backup.of.backup, notmymainacc.
Keep your spam account private
If you want the account to stay between friends, avoid your real name, school, city and birth year in the username. Set the account to private and only accept people you know. Also remember that a username can be searched, so do not reuse your main handle with a small change.
Backup account usernames
A backup account protects your followers if your main account is hacked or disabled. Here a clear name is better: your main handle plus .backup or .2, so followers can recognise it. Instagram allows up to 30 characters with letters, numbers, periods and underscores. For more ideas, use the free Instagram username generator below.
